Value of Christian Friendships

One day a friend shared with me that she was having a difficult situation concerning her husband. She wanted to bring it up and her opinion along with it to him all the time. Her mother’s advice was simple “After you say something once, maybe twice about a matter, then you take it to the Lord and trust Him.”

I have thought about that many times since and agree that it is great advice. We all want to be a Proverbs 31 woman, not a Proverbs 21:19 woman.

Hearing my friends story and the good outcome that it had on her caused me to challenge myself and my trusting Him. Funny thing to me was that she is a newlywed and I have been married almost 30 years. I don’t think I have been a complaining wife but I now find myself taking that advice and it is good!

I am thankful for my friend sharing the story with me and am also thankful for His goodness and loving ways to tweak me. He is soooo good!!

We need relationships in our lives that we feel open to share the difficult things and the good things. God is always at work in us!
