Every year the Pantone company chooses a color to represent the year. This year it’s “Living Coral.” Harper’s Bazaar reports that Pantone Hopes its 2019 color of the year will make life “less of a dumpster fire.” Lauren Alexis Fisher, writer for Harper’s Bazaar, indicates that “living coral,” is a color that symbolizes the need for optimism, stating that Pantone is hoping to “usher some positivity into all our lives” this year.

Pantone introduced its color of the year–PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral — as an “animating and life-affirming coral hue.” Pantone praises the hue’s golden undertones that “energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.” Fisher says the color symbolizes our innate need for optimism and “joyful pursuits.” Adding, Living Coral “embodies our desire for playful expression.” Living Coral is also described by Pantone as “sociable and spirited,” and is described as having an engaging nature that encourages lighthearted activity.

Home fashions and clothing fabrics have all picked up on this color emphasis this year.  You may have been enjoying this bright, joyful and positive color for yourself so far, but if not, it’s not too late to get in on the fun and enjoy the beauty. As for God’s people, why do colors matter? It’s because, colors are beautiful expressions of God’s magnificent creation. So, enjoy!
